Researchers may find some national news items located in the South Dakota news series and vice versa. Due to the size of the collection it is difficult to catch all items during processing. This series includes numerous newspaper clippings related to the subgroup including area government, education and various civic events. A large portion of this subgroup includes information pertaining to Southwest State University, where Mr. Johnson was employed from 1969 until 1981. Most of this information was collected after his retirement, and a large percentage is in the form of newspaper clippings. Also included are various telephone directories for Marshall and Lyon County, MN, as well as SSU campus directories.
