This series is composed of articles and books by Ethel Austin Martin, transcripts, correspondence, ephemera, awards, and photographs. The articles include publications created by Ethel Austin Martin during her time as director of nutrition services for the National Dairy Council. The books include a copy of the various editions and reprints for r topics include memories of her career, research, and family. The "Nutrition in Action" and "Roberts' Nutrition Work with Children," which also includes a galley proof. The transcripts are from an interview conducted by John E. Miller in 1989. These are Martin's reminiscences of her time growing up in Brookings and Bruce, South Dakota as well as her time at South Dakota Agricultural College. Topics about the college include Presidents, Hobo Day, Literary Societies, campus buildings, campus activities, sports, buildings, and individuals she had contact with, including Hubert Mathieu, Hubert Mathew, and N.E. Hansen, among others. Othe audio cassettes for these transcripts were not included with this donation.

There is a fairly large amount of correspondence included with this collection. Most of this is between Ethel Austin Martin and South Dakota State University officials and pertain to the establishment of the Ethel Austin Martin Program in Human Nutrition. Also included is correspondence from friends and associates on the occasion of Ethel Austin Martin's 100th birthday, and letters pertaining to professional appointments. Also found in this collection is material related to her education; such as grade reports from elementary school to college, diplomas, and a teaching certificate, awards presented to Martin, and material related to her marriage to Edward Martin; such as their marriage license, photographs, and a memory book. Also included is ephemera related to her life in college including club membership pins, a college graduation pin from 1916, calling cards, and a blanket worn by Ethel Austin Martin during first Hobo Day parade at South Dakota State College in 1912. The photographs include images of Martin's marriage, her youth, her retirement from the National Dairy Council, and the signing ceremony of the memorandum of agreement with South Dakota State University establishing the endowment for the Program in Human Nutrition.

This collection is composed mainly of records pertaining to the development of the Ethel Austin Martin Program in Human Nutrition. Included are records related to the Endowed Chair, the Distinguished Lecturer and Visiting Professorship in Human Nutrition and collected publications related to nutrition. Also included are the Ethel Austin Martin Papers which are composed of articles and books by Ethel Austin Martin, transcripts, correspondence, ephemera, awards, and photographs.

The Endowed Chair records are composed mainly of records pertaining to the development of the Ethel Austin Martin Program in Human Nutrition, the Endowed Chair, and the Basic Course in Nutrition. Also included are financial files, progress reports, records related to the Ethel Austin Martin buildings, the Human Nutrition Committee files, newsletters, and the memorandum of agreement with Ethel Austin Martin and the signing ceremony of the agreement. The records pertaining to the development of the program and the Endowed Chair are composed of working papers created by Ethel Austin Martin as well as South Dakota State University. These materials consist mainly of correspondence, notes, collected research, statements, and position papers. The material related to the Basic Course in Nutrition consists of records related to the creation of the course and include items such as research in creating the course, textbook selection, course material, and syllabi. The files related to the memorandum of agreement with Ethel Austin Martin are composed of the agreement, correspondence, and material dealing with infringement on the agreement, most likely gathered by Ethel Austin Martin herself. Also included is material pertaining to the signing of the agreement in 1985.

Dr. Ethel Austin Martin, 1916 alumna of South Dakota State University, established an endowment fund to promote multidisciplinary scholarship and education in the field of human nutrition. This fund provides for a series of Distinguished Lectureships in Human Nutrition. The Distinguished lecturers in Human Nutrition are on the South Dakota State University campus for a two-day period. They give a major presentation open to the general public, followed by exploratory discussions of the functions of the program in different educational areas of the University. The material is composed of files related to the planning and development of the Ethel Austin Martin Distinguished Lecturer in Human Nutrition. Included are files on program planning and development, publicity, programs and announcements, audio recordings of some lectures and material related to the selection of lecturers. Folders consist of correspondence, clippings, photographs, and speech files, including research. Ethel Austin Martin was very involved in the planning of the lectureships. Researchers will find many letters, notes, and related material created by Martin in these files.

"The concept of the Ethel Austin Martin Visiting Professorship at South Dakota State University is al all campus effort to encourage and advance learning in the science of human nutrition and its application. It represents a unique approach to human nutrition through the active cooperation of faculty and students from all pertinent disciplines at the university. Advances planning and preparation in cooperation with the visiting professor in inherent in the concept. Each visiting professor is selected because of his/her excellence in a specific area of nutrition. The visiting professor provides direction and guidance to campus participants and serves as special lecturer on campus and in the community.

The Visiting Professorship program is implemented as a grass roots effort by task force committees, each group consisting of faculty members who represent different subject areas that can contribute to the understanding of a nutritional problem. Prior to the symposium, task force groups assemble data and prepare presentations intended to stimulate questions and promote discussion. These cooperative relationships create a cross-fertilization of expertise among the various subject areas which enhances their separate contributions and broadens immeasurable the dimensions of human nutrition.

The Nutrition Fund Committee, appointed by the President of South Dakota State University, is responsible for the implementation of the Visiting Professorship program. The members represent different disciplines that impact upon human nutrition and are rotated on a specific basis.

The Ethel Austin Martin Visiting Professorship is funded by a gift from Ethel Austin Martin, a 1916 Home Economics graduate of South Dakota State University. She received as advanced degree in nutrition at Columbia University, New York, and did additional graduate work at the University of Chicago. Dr. Martin was Director of Nutrition Services of the National Dairy Council for 22 years. She has authored several textbooks on nutrition, including the well-known textbook, "Nutrition in Action." The material is composed of files related to the planning and development of the Ethel Austin Martin Visiting Professorship in Human Nutrition. Included are files on program planning and development, publicity, proceeding, programs, evaluation of the conference, audio and video recordings of some sessions and material related to the selection of the visiting professor. Folders consist of correspondence, clippings, and photographs. Ethel Austin Martin was very involved in the planning of the lectureships. Researchers will find many letters, notes, and related material created by Martin in these files.

The collected publications are composed of publications related to human nutrition collected by Ethel Austin Martin and the Ethel Austin Martin Program in Human Nutrition. These were most likely collected in preparation for the Basic Course in Human Nutrition. Folders consist of journal articles, books, newsletters, and proceedings.

The painting is a ‘legacy’ in the archives. A handwritten note in the Greater Federation of Women’s Clubs collection from Chuck Cecil (Nov. 3, 1967) reads “Contact Mrs. Earl Washburn of Fulton, S.D. regarding painting by Mrs. Evelyn Hubbard of Old North & Old Central. They desire the painting go to the Art Center.

This collection is composed of materials created by F. Robert Gartner in relation to his research, activities, presentations, and writings. Gartner's research is composed of material related to range management such as, prescribed burning mechanical treatments, chemical applications, wildlife, livestock, and erosion; and studies on various ranches in the Black Hills area of South Dakota. Also included are publications collected by Gartner in relation to his research. Researchers will also find a large amount of photographic images related to Gartner's research which consists of slides, photographs and negatives.

This collection is composed of material on campus security, central mailing, parking and traffic, and miscellaneous items published by or for the department. The security information consists of security reports, a pamphlet about campus safety and security and parking and traffic regulations from 1958 through 1991. The central mailing information details how to use central mailing service and gives guidelines for mail deposited with them. The miscellaneous published items include information on campus buildings, land, utilities, streets, parking lots and maintenance. Also included is a hand and face dryer used in the restrooms of Wecota Hall when that building was used as a dormitory.

The Faculty Association Records are composed of constitution, minutes and correspondence files. Most of the latter consists entirely of correspondence from or to the acting head of the association. Also included are committee records series spans the years 1946-1972, with the bulk of material from 1952-1960. Included are committee assignments and studies completed by various committees. Although the names of the individual committees changed over time, their function remained essentially the same. Committees were formed around the topics of tenure, promotion and rank, salary, insurance, retirement, and other such topics.

The Faculty Housing Company records are composed primarily of meeting minutes (annual, special, and board of directors meetings), stock holder information, and letters written to stockholders from incorporation in 1952 to dissolution in 1963. The collection also includes advertisement brochures and signs of the company, correspondences with stockholders, floor plans of the corporation's property, and quarterly reports.

This collection is composed of the minutes from faculty meetings held at South Dakota State University from its inception up through the 1980's. These files are fairly complete; with large gaps being noted from fall 1898-Spring 1903 and June 1907-March 1918. Very few other minutes are missing, however. Included with some of the files are materials related to topics being discussed at the meetings, such as a petition by a student group, or a brochure from a campus event. For the most part, the contents of the minutes are fairly dry and businesslike, although some gems might be discovered with careful attention.

Artificial collection composed of articles and publications written by South Dakota State University faculty.

The Faculty Publications is an ongoing collection of articles and publications written by South Dakota State University faculty. This material has been collected in a haphazard manner. There has never been a policy to collect anything smaller than books written by faculty authors, so the assumption here is that these articles, were, for the most part, donated to the archives. There is not a program to collect such material. Currently, if material arrives in the archives, it is added to the collection.

It is recommended that researchers ask staff about materials by specific faculty members.

The Faculty Round Table Records sub-group consists of the by-laws and minutes from the first meeting, and tentative rules governing the Faculty Round Table. The by-laws are bound in a ledger and are hand-written. The by-laws state the name of the group, its aim, membership, officers, and organization of meetings. Also included in the ledger are the minutes from the first meeting of the group. The tentative rules governing the Faculty Round Table are the same as the by-laws in the exception that they are typewritten.

This collection is composed of material related to the Academic Senate and other university committees that perform the bulk of the Senate functions. While some of the committees are permanent, most change from year to year, depending on the needs and desires of the Senate and the university community. For a description of duties for individual committees consult the Faculty/Faculty-Student Committees Handbook.
Material consist of minutes, clippings, correspondence, research, membership files, reports, handbooks, subject files and publications directly related to each committee. The bulk of the material deals with academic affairs, academic freedom and tenure, academic improvements, the Committee on Elections, the Conference of Senates, and the constitution of the Senate.
Also included are files of collected material on various subjects relating to or of importance to the Academic Senate. It is believed that the various committees reporting to it sent much of this material to the Academic Senate. The bulk of the material deals with faculty and students at South Dakota State University. The faculty material deals with many topics, but some items of note are professional staff and teacher evaluations, the relationship between the faculty and the Senate, material from faculty meetings, faculty representatives, faculty rules and regulations, and the Faculty Senate. The student material also deals with many topics, and includes a proposal for career development, student activities, and material from the Student Senate and the Student Association. Also included is material dealing with academic appeals and faculty controversies. This material deals with many topics, a few covered in this material are curriculum, tuition and fees, collective bargaining groups, accreditation, classified employees, the Resources Allocation Model (RAM), various projects and programs which the senate sponsored or participated in, clippings, and material dealing with Resolution 21.

This collection is composed of the records of the Faculty Women's Club from the beginnings of the club in 1917 to the late 1990's when the club evolved into the SDSU Club. Material found in the collection consists mainly of minutes, president's reports, constitutions, newsletters, directories, programs, photographs, clippings and financial records, including a loan fund ledger and scholarship information. Also included is material on faculty receptions, teas, and luncheons, material on the club's involvement with the Memorial Art Center, and several histories of the club. A history of the auxiliary club of the Newcomers Club is also included, along with minutes of their meetings.

In 1993, the Faculty Women's Club celebrated its 75th anniversary and put on a style show that gave a history of the club since its establishment. A script and a video recording of the event are included here.

This collection also includes SDSU Club materials from 1998 to the present, including brochures, posters and invitations.

Composed of architectural drawings by F.W.C. Kuehn created for various projects. Included are rural school plans and county highway maps designed by Kuehn as well as bids and plans for projects.

The architectural drawings include work from both Kuehn's years enrolled in the International Correspondence Schools and his career as an architect.

The general items are composed of miscellaneous items related to Kuehn.

The random specifications are composed of construction specifications for projects Kuehn worked on.

This collection is composed of accounting records, budget requests and financial reports. Folders are composed of correspondence, vouchers, reports, ledgers, payroll records, deposit tickets and various fund vouchers, budget requests, financial reports, internal management reports, and operating budget reports for South Dakota State University and departments within.

The general office records are made up of records that did not indicate coming from a particular fund. The bulk of this series consists of correspondence between the chief financial officer and various businesses, college faculty and staff. Also included are reports, receipts, and vouchers. Some items of note include correspondence between the Department of Health, Education and Welfare and Presidents Briggs during the early 1960s, material dealing with the management of the Ladies Dormitory between 1908 and 1910 and ledgers of tuition and fees from the 1880s to the mid-1920s.

The Adams fund is composed of accounting records for disbursements paid through the Adams Fund. Included are payroll records, general supplies and equipment records, horticulture records, veterinary equipment purchases, grain drying lab supplies, travel expenses, and records dealing with N.E. Hansen supplies for fruit breeding project, chemicals, grain. Also included are abstracts of disbursements.

The Endowment fund is composed of vouchers for disbursements made through the Endowment Fund.

The Experiment Station fund is composed accounting records for the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station. Records are arranged according to division or fund. The Agricultural Division shows the cost of feed. The Incidental includes travel expenses and membership dues for the Association of American Agricultural Colleges and Experiment Station. The Printing costs covered expenses for the Collegian, forms, bulletins, and circulars. The Building Division covered costs for building a silo, a plant house, and various other buildings. Records from the Chemical Division show costs for lab chemicals, furniture, supplies, and equipment. The Executive Division consists of records for office supplies, furniture, and travel expenses. The Entomology records detail the purchase of beneficial and injurious insects, supplies, equipment, and furniture. Also included are records related to Horticulture and N.E. Hansen and the purchase of plant materials and seeds.
The Farm fund is composed of vouchers for the purchase of lumber, feed, straw for bedding, equipment, repairs, registration of livestock, and State Fair expenses.

The general fund is composed of accounting records for maintenance on campus, as well as water and light expenses, telephone and telegraph charges, travel, freight, postage, equipment, supplies, and farm expenses for livestock, feed purchases and machinery repairs. Also included are expenses for the Highmore Sub-station, including labor, buildings (notices to contractors, construction costs, insurance,) team rental, and feed. Some items of note include the purchase of one mounted skeleton of a crane and the purchase of sea animals, including starfish, sea urchins, fish, and crayfish.

The Hatch fund is composed of accounting records for agriculture, botany, horticulture, printing expenses, payroll and fuel and light expenses for the campus. The Hatch Act of 1887 gave federal land grants to states in order to create a series of agricultural experiment stations, as well as pass along new information, especially in the areas of soil minerals and plant growth. State agricultural stations created under this act were usually connected with land-grant state colleges and universities founded under the Morrilll Act of 1862.

The local and endowment fund is composed of accounting records for breaking sod at Highmore Experiment Station, payroll, printing costs for the Jackrabbit yearbook, washing, President Chalmer's travel expenses, and land purchase (Horace Fishback). Also included is a letter from President Chalmers to R.A. Larson discussing disallowed travel expenses.

The local fund. is composed of advertising expenses, Regent travel expenses, milk purchases, State Fair expenses, repairs, student and
janitor payroll, traveling expenses, equipment, supplies, meals for threshing crew, and livestock expenses.

The Morrilll fund is composed of accounting records for salaries, library books and subscriptions, museum expedition costs, cooking and sewing supplies and equipment, mechanical shop supplies, horticultural, botanical, veterinary, dairy, astronomy, entomology, physics and chemistry and supplies and equipment, travel expenses, diplomas, and statements of accounts.

The State fund is composed of accounting records for the library, steam heating, furnishings, barns and fences, janitor, engineering, incidental funds, repairs, supplies, dynamite, telegraph wire, books, fuel and lights, and the Highmore experiment station costs of breaking sod. An item of note included "Territory of Dakota" heading that has been corrected to "State of South Dakota" in November 1889.

The budget requests and financial reports is made up of internal management reports, and operating budget reports for South Dakota State University and departments within.

This collection is composed of items published by the Financial Aid Office. The bulk of the material consists of scholarship pamphlets, including material for the School of Agriculture. Also included is information on financial aid available at South Dakota State University.

The Florence and Geraldine Fenn Inner-City Scholarship collection is composed of scrapbooks, journals, photographs, and miscellaneous materials related to the Fenn Scholarship. Included are photos of the Fenn Scholars and the places they worked and lived in Denver, Colorado, their weekly expense sheets and itineraries, journals relating their experiences, newspaper clippings, and many brochures from sites in Denver.

The material was originally arranged in scrapbooks, which were dismantled for preservation purposes. The photographs were separated to the UA Photograph Archives. Any ephemera in the scrapbooks were placed in separate folders. Three of the scrapbooks (1989-1991) were retained in their original condition as an example.

Composed of miscellanies from both the era of the Forum and the time of the Ethical Culture Club. Materials from the latter era consist of the record of meetings from the years 1908-1910. Material for the latter years includes the minutes of meetings, a copy of the constitution, some miscellaneous materials and a history of the club written by William Powers.

The Frank Klock Papers are composed of 10 CDs of digital photographs of South Dakota State University buildings.

The collection includes the constitutions, programs, yearly records of activities and financial records. In addition, there are membership lists, a VHS tape, chapter histories, reports, and materials related to the 25th anniversary of the chapter.

The collection is composed of administrative material, District V material, including GFWC Brookings and Brookings Civic League, and campaign material for the creation of the South Dakota Memorial Art Center.

The Administrative files is composed directories, programs, a constitution and by-laws and the South Dakota Clubwoman newsletters. The South Dakota Clubwoman newsletters make up the bulk of this series.

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs of South Dakota has divided the state into six Federation Districts. District V includes the counties of Marshall, Day, Clark, Kingsbury, Roberts, Grant, Codington, Hamlin, Deuel, and Brookings. The material composed of minutes, reports, programs, club reports, correspondence, clippings, and constitutions and by-laws. The club reports are reports sent to the District V president describing the clubs activities for the year. These are arranged alphabetically by town with all clubs for a town filed in one folder. The minutes, reports, and programs are filed together and consist of minutes from board meeting of GFWC, District V and deal mainly with preparations for annual meetings and conventions. The reports are mainly reports from conventions and the programs are from annual conventions.

The Brookings Civic League files are composed mainly of minutes of the Brookings Civic League. The minutes are dispersed throughout seven ledgers and include meeting minutes, annual reports, treasurer's reports and some correspondence. Also included are an account book and two scrapbooks from the 1970's. One of the scrapbooks is historical in nature and consists of programs from annual conventions of the General Federation of Women's Clubs of South Dakota, clippings, and other memorabilia.

The GFWC Brookings sub-series is composed of minutes, scrapbooks, reports, and photographs and slides.

The Memorial Art Center Campaign Records are composed of correspondence, minutes, financial records, agreements, clippings, and architectural renderings and blueprints.

This collection includes printouts of 2001 emails from Geoffrey and Sue Grant to friends in USA, written while they were in Kunming, China, and recounting their experiences and views of life in Kunming and at Yunnan University. It also includes a CD-ROM with “Hundreds of .jpg pictures—Kunming, Beijing and Tibet” and the draft introduction (by Ronald J. Troyer of Drake University) to what would become the book “Social Control in the People’s Republic of China” (1989), which is in Box 2, File 28. One folder includes materials relating to the US and SD Departments of Transportation and to SD LTAP (Local Transportation Assistance Program).

Also included are printed materials relating to the Eisenhower Foundation sponsored trips to China, including correspondence, briefing package, journals, reports, descriptions of specific daily visits, detailing “important local officials”, participants, as well as interpreters, etc. The majority are dated 1987, but there is one each from 1983 and 1984. The two from 1988 and later include SDSU’s “China Exchange Program” and the book, “Social Control in the People’s Republic of China” (1989) with a chapter by Dr. Grant, “The Family and Social Control: Traditional and Modern.” Finally research will find approximately 49 oversize 19 in. x 13 in. color photographs of daily life in China (all that had labels stated 2001 Kunming).

This collection is composed of programs, news releases, and commemorative books for the annual South Dakota State Geography Convention. Also included are flyers for recruitment and events sponsored by the club and an article by Ed Hogan on the history of the South Dakota State Geography Convention.

Composed of materials related to the Geography Department. Folders consist of programs, pamphlets, correspondence, clippings, booklets and program reviews. Also included is a booklet on graduate study in geography, and a list of house types in Brookings, SD.

In this collection there are letters that were sent directly to George when he was president and other letters. There are also items that commemorate George for his work during his time at SDSU.

Composed of information pamphlets describing Global Studies programs at South Dakota State University and material pertaining to the Introduction to Global Studies course. Folders include pamphlets, correspondence, course announcements, and a draft syllabus.

The collection consists of editorials written by Gordon Garnos between 1998 and 2016. The editorials were printed in the Watertown [South Dakota] Public Opinion and his column, Seeing South Dakota, was syndicated in newspapers in South Dakota. Lists of the editorials are included in the folders.

In this collection there are many samples of different sewing styles from the 1940’s. There is also a small notebook that contains recipes that was written by Grace during the 1940’s.

Composed of Graduate School records, Graduate Council minutes, Graduate Faculty records, and records of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. Folders consist of newsletters, pamphlets, info sheets, brochures, announcements, schedules, meeting minutes, and correspondence.

This appears to be a collection of commissioned works, created sometime in the 1960's or 1970's according to the organization's web site. These were most likely done in the later part of that period, as evidenced by the citation on the picture of Lincoln Hall as the "Lincoln Music Hall" – the library had already shifted, so this was after 1975 or so. Given this date, the painting of Old North (razed in 1962) was very likely done from a photograph, as the others also may have been reproduced.

Ccomposed of composed of flyers, newsletters and clippings of various fraternities and sororities on the campus of South Dakota State University. Included is material for Alpha Xi Delta, Ceres, Chi Omega, FarmHouse, Lambda Chi Alpha, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and Sigma Phi Epsilon.

Composed of a manuscript titled "In the Blizzard," newspaper accounts, photos and other background information. Included are versions printed by the "Evangelisches Gemeindeblatt," a Lutheran church bulletin written in German from Madison, Wisconsin, and by the Watertown Public Opinion, which features a translation of that article by Reverend Elwood Habermann and other useful information. Frederick's role as editor and copier of the original document is omitted in Reverend Habermann's translation as well as several other significant details presumably unknown to him.

Composed of collected stories, publications, speeches and typewritten transcripts of Wahehe Heirship hearing. Collection also includes notebooks and manuscripts containing lists, definitions and transcriptions of many events related to Lakota history. Many stories told to Shunk when he was a United States Bureau of Indian Affairs agent are also rewritten in Shunk's own hand.

This collection is composed of course notes from the welding classes that Harry Svec taught. In the course notes there is also a brief history of how welding came to be and talks about the metal work that was done long ago. There are notes that contain how to do a certain weld and different types of welds and what they work best for. Also, there are magazines for welding that highlight different things that were happening in the welding industry during this time. Also included is a poem to one of his late friends, William Allen.

Collection consists of historical documents relating to the Hawley-Lothrop Families and William Walters. The collection documents the families during the late nineteenth to the mid twentieth centuries. The collection includes scrapbooks and photo albums. Of interest are the materials relating to William H. Walters' time at South Dakota State.

Composed of materials related to the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. Included are newsletters, pamphlets, programs, and other publications produced by the department.

This collection is composed of material related to design forums and visiting artist professorships held at South Dakota State University in relation to the Van Zante Endowment in connection with the College of Family and Consumer Sciences and the Department of Visual Arts.

This series includes information about design forums, a video featuring three interior designers who were guests at the 1997 Design Forum, biographies and student essays on some of the visiting artists, and a report of the 1998 Van Zante Visiting Professorships in the Visual Arts. Included in the Visiting Professorships in the Visual Arts material is correspondence between the Visual Arts department head and the artists who participated. Also included are five videos featuring visiting artists. One video is the work of Ron Stucki and features footage of winter sports and a torch relay runner for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

Composed of oral interviews of various persons on topics such as South Dakota State University, South Dakota, and Brookings, SD region conducted by students for the Bicentennial Oral History Project. Also included is a pamphlet about the History program.

Composed of correspondence between Henry Langford Loucks and Richard F. Pettigrew during the years 1914-1916. The content of the letters is mainly political in nature, dealing with issues of the progressive movement in the United States in the early 1900's. The collection also contains photographs, and published editorials and a pamphlet written by Loucks.

This collection consists of farm accounting records, material related to Hofer's 1996 campaign for the South Dakota State Senate, biographical material, calendars, and acreage measurements for Milford Township in Beadle County, South Dakota.

The accounting records contain detailed information on farm operations for each year recorded on South Dakota State College Extension Farm and Ranch Record Books (1947-1949), National Farmers' Income Tax Record Books, Mitchell (South Dakota) Publishing Company (1950-1956, 1959), South Dakota State College Agricultural Extension Service Farm and Ranch Business Record Books (1957-1958, 1962-1966, 1968-1980), Doane Agricultural Digest Income and Expenditure Record Book (1960), Blackbourn's farm and Ranch Bookkeeping Record Books (1961, 1967), South Dakota State University Cooperative Extension Service Account Books (1997-1999), and a Farm Credit Services Farm and Ranch Record Book (2000). Information includes an inventory of land, improvements, buildings and livestock; livestock fees and sales; machinery, equipment and automobile inventory and operating expenses; map of the farm and crop-system summary; crops raised and sold; inventory of feed, grain and supplies; cash receipts and expenses; summary of expenses including taxes and labor; capital purchases and sales; products used on the farm and a financial business analysis summary.

Other material in the collection is campaign material, consisting of advertising, newspaper clippings, posters, pamphlets, and a photograph; biographical material of Ben Hofer and his father, Josua; calendars noting daily appointments and events; and, acreage measurements for Milford Township in Beadle County, South Dakota compiled by Josua Hofer in 1940

The collection contains audio cassettes and compact discs of the show from 1994 through 2006.

This collection is composed of secretary books from the beginning of the club to 1956. The secretary books contain minutes of meetings and the constitution of the club. Also included are scrapbooks, general information, newsletters, handbooks and some material from the American Home Economics Association.
